Invite Friends Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions: In order for a Chime member (the “Referrer”) to qualify and receive the $175.00 referral reward and $10.00 temporary SpotMe Bonus Limit increase for this referral incentive (the “Promotion”), the following conditions must be met: (1) the Referrer must have an active Chime Checking Account (“Chime Account”); (2) Referrer must meet SpotMe eligibility requirements, which can be found at https://www.chime.com/policies/bancorp/spotme_terms/; (3) the Referrer must send their personal referral link to a consumer who does not have an active Chime Account (“Referred”); (4) the Referred must open a new Chime Account within 10 days of the Referrer receiving notice of the Promotion; and (5) Referred must receive a Qualifying Direct Deposit (see below) of $200 or more into their Chime Account within 45 days of opening the Account. A Qualifying Direct Deposit is a deposit by Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) that comes directly from your employer, payroll provider, gig economy payer, or benefits payer OR a deposit by Original Credit Transaction (OCT) from your gig economy payer. Bank ACH transfers, Pay Anyone transfers, verification or trial deposits from financial institutions, peer to peer transfers from services such as PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo, mobile check deposits, cash loads or deposits, one-time direct deposits, such as tax refunds and other similar transactions are not Qualifying Direct Deposits. Eligible Referrers will receive the  Promotion deposited into their Chime Account generally within seven (7) business days after the above criteria are satisfied. Eligible Referrers may receive in-app banners, push notifications, and email notifications alerting them to the existence of the Promotion and their eligibility to participate, but this is not a criteria to participate. Members will not be enrolled in SpotMe automatically. Referrer Members must qualify for SpotMe and enroll manually through the Chime App in order to receive the temporary SpotMe Bonus Limit increase. Members may earn no more than $50.00 in SpotMe Bonus Limit referral increase and may earn no more than $1,000.00 in monetary referral rewards per calendar year (January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023 and January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024). No member’s SpotMe limit may exceed $200. Any Referrer SpotMe Bonus limit increase referral reward will expire 184 calendar days from the Referred receiving a Qualifying Direct Deposit. Any earned SpotMe Bonus Limit increases from this referral promotion in the Member’s bonus queue (“Bonus Queue”) not yet added to the Member’s SpotMe limit (due to the promotional limit cap) will be added to the Member’s SpotMe limit on a rolling basis as the previously added SpotMe increases from this referral reward expire. Once the temporary SpotMe Bonus Limit ends, Members may no longer earn SpotMe increases on this referral promotion, however the earned SpotMe bonuses in the Member’s Bonus Queue will not be lost. If an eligible Referrer loses SpotMe eligibility, and the Referred completes the above conditions, the Referrer will receive the $10 temporary SpotMe Bonus Limit increase referral reward only upon regaining SpotMe eligibility. Referral rewards will generally be provided within two (2) business days after all the above conditions are met. The Referrer’s account must be in good standing in order to receive the referral reward. Referred individuals acknowledge that payment of any referral reward may result in the Referrer’s knowledge of the Referred’s establishment of a new Chime Account or enrollment in a product. Chime reserves the right to cancel or modify the terms of any referral promotion or terminate a member’s eligibility at any time with or without prior notice. Credits of $10 or more will be reported on tax form 1099-INT for new members (Referred). If a Chime member receives certain monetary rewards, referral bonuses (Referrers), and other monetary Chime incentives that total $600 or more in one calendar year, this will be reported on tax form 1099-MISC as required for the Chime member.
