Chime is a Second Chance Banking Option with No Monthly Fees

Many standard checking accounts and savings accounts can be expensive just to maintain each month. Traditional accounts sometimes charge high and unnecessary banking fees that can cause additional monetary challenges to people with credit issues.  Minimum balance requirements add yet another hurdle. Add in monthly maintenance fees, rising ATM fees, and expensive overdraft fees and banking can be a complete non-starter.

Chime offers a second chance bank account with no unnecessary fees. Keep more of your hard-earned money and sign up for a Chime account:

  • 60,000+ fee-free ATMs
  • No overdraft fees
  • No monthly maintenance charges
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • No minimum balance fees – ever

FAQs

Who is eligible for Chime Second Chance Banking?

Chime Second Chance Banking is open to individuals who may have encountered difficulties accessing traditional banking due to credit issues or credit reporting agencies’ history. It aims to provide banking services to a wider range of people. To be eligible for a Chime Checking Account, you must have a valid Social Security number, be at least 18 years old, be a citizen or a permanent resident of the 50 United States or Washington, DC, use a United States Post Office-recognized residential mailing address, and not have an existing account with Chime.

How does Chime's Automatic Savings feature work?

Chime offers two helpful Automatic Savings features. When turned on, Round Ups automatically round up debit card purchases to the nearest dollar and transfer the round up from your Chime Checking Account to your Savings Account. The Save When I Get Paid feature makes it easy to save money from your paychecks every month. All you need to do is sign up for direct deposit with Chime. When you get paid, Chime automatically transfers 10% of your direct deposits of $500 or more from your Checking Account into your Savings Account.

What fees are associated with Chime Second Chance Banking?
