The data is clear: Higher education drives higher earnings, and higher earnings drive real financial progress. But for many students, especially those from nontraditional backgrounds, that education is out of reach.

We’ve pledged 1% of our equity to change that. Inspired by our founder’s personal experience with higher education, the Chime Scholars Foundation (CSF) provides up to $20,000 in renewable scholarships to students, as well as career panels, coaching sessions, resume reviews, and informational interviews with Chime staff to help our scholars progress toward their big dreams.

A path forward for nontraditional students.

CSF is distinct from other scholarship programs in two main ways:

1. We actively pursue nontraditional students, like those who are mid-career, single parents, transferring from community college, part-time or returning, and those from low-income or marginalized communities. Forty-four percent of Chime Scholars come from nontraditional backgrounds.

2. We support students applying for apprenticeships, trade, or technical certification, in recognition that these can lead to new, in-demand career pathways and great job security.

99% of all jobs created since the Great Recession have been filled by people with more than a high school education.1

Higher education is one of the most powerful engines for economic mobility. With CSF, we aim to expand access so that others have the same opportunity I did.

Meet our Scholars.

Chime Scholars are just as diverse as the communities we serve. We’re inspired by their journeys and honored to support them.

The Chime Scholarship is really important to me because I will avoid more debt and can put more focus on my academics.

I would like to thank Chime for believing in me and for giving me the opportunity to not work while pursuing my degree.

The Chime Scholarship is helping me reach my goals and taking a huge weight off my shoulders.

The Chime Scholarship has really helped me focus on what I’m passionate about.
