Yes. Your Chime Checking Account is how you fund your investments — money moves directly from your Chime Checking Account to your investing account, so that you can buy stocks and ETFs.

Yes. Both live inside your investing account. You can pick individual stocks or ETFs on your own, and add a Managed Portfolio alongside them.

A stock represents a share of ownership in a company. When you buy a stock, you own a small piece of that company. An ETF (exchange-traded fund) is a collection of stocks or other investments bundled together and traded as one. It’s a way to invest in many companies at once, which can help spread your risk across a broader set of investments.

You can choose from 500+ stocks including Apple, Amazon, Nike, and Tesla — plus a curated selection of ETFs across tech, international markets, bonds, gold, and more.

Chime Invest currently supports stocks and ETFs only — no direct crypto, options, or mutual funds. That said, you can invest in a bitcoin ETF through self-directed investing. Managed Portfolios are also built using ETFs, with the most aggressive portfolio including a small amount of crypto exposure through the underlying holdings, as part of its overall mix.

There are no commission fees on trades,¹ no balance minimums, and no account opening or maintenance fees. There are annualized investment advisory fees for Managed Portfolios and they vary by Chime membership tier — $0 for Chime Prime members, 0.10% for Chime Plus members, and 0.25% for Chime basic members. Advisory fees are calculated daily based on your account balance and are charged monthly. The investment advisory fee is paid to Atomic Invest, our partner and an SEC-registered investment adviser, and is not a Chime membership fee.
