Chime's Vineet Mehra Named to Forbes' 50 World's Most Influential CMOs

Vineet Mehra, Chime's Chief Marketing Officer, has been recognized by Forbes as one of the 50 World's Most Influential CMOs. The prestigious list honors marketing leaders who are shaping brands and the future of their industries.

Under Mehra's leadership, Chime® has transformed how marketing drives growth, impact, and cultural relevance. In an evolving landscape marked by declining trust in traditional financial institutions and rapid advancements in AI, Mehra's innovative approach to marketing at Chime has integrated culturally relevant brand-building, product-led marketing, and data-driven customer acquisition into a powerful growth engine.

In the past year alone, Mehra's strategic direction has produced standout results:

  • In 2024, Time Magazine's first World's Best Brand survey identified Chime among the top five brands in the banking category in America.1

  • Among Americans earning up to $100,000 annually, Chime's unaided brand awareness of 41% rivals that of the three largest traditional banks in the United States, meaningfully exceeding that of some of the largest peer to peer financial technology companies.2

  • Mehra has evolved Chime's brand to include branded entertainment and led the team to create its first-ever NBA contextual ads.

  • Mehra and his team spearheaded Chime's largest-ever Financial Progress Month® campaign, featuring Coach Deion Sanders, Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, WWE star Becky Lynch, and Chime Changemaker Josue De Paz—blending brand storytelling, creator partnerships, and real-world activations like WrestleMania sponsorship to celebrate everyday financial wins and deepen cultural relevance.

Mehra has also championed innovative operational shifts that include diversifying Chime's media channels to over 100 publishers, building in-house AI-powered content creation capabilities, and pioneering Chime Content GPT, a proprietary AI platform for high-performing, SEO-driven content. Looking ahead, Mehra is focused on operationalizing AI-driven marketing, deepening Chime's cultural and entertainment presence, and continuing to diversify channels to engage intent-rich audiences.
