Thank you for your interest in an exciting and rewarding career at Chime! Chime is dedicated to protecting any personal information you might share with us during the application process. This Job Applicant Privacy Notice will inform you how Chime sources, uses, and discloses your personal information during the application process. This Privacy Notice covers Chime’s privacy practices only. This Notice does not apply to the practices of third-party websites, services or applications, including third parties with which we partner. These third-party services are governed by each such third party’s privacy policy. Chime is not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of websites other than that of Chime, and Chime is not responsible for the failure of unaffiliated third parties to honor their privacy obligations.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT BEFORE MAKING YOU AN OFFER

During the application process (prior to receiving an offer), Chime may collect, use, and disclose your Personal Information, as described below. For the purposes of this Notice, “Personal Information” refers to any piece or combination of information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked or associated with you or your household.[1]

Except as described below, Chime only collects your personal information during the application process to the extent you share it directly with Chime or through a third-party recruiting platform, job-posting site, or talent professional. Chime uses this information to recruit you, customize your application process, review and verify the various elements of your application, and decide whether to hire you for a position at Chime. Chime may also aggregate your personal information with that of other applicants to conduct analytics about the applicant pool and evaluate its recruiting efforts. Except as prohibited by law, Chime may share any personal information you provide with your references, former employers, educational institutions, professional associations, and other persons and organizations who have information pertinent to your application.

Chime may also enter into agreements with service providers such as candidate management systems (e.g., Greenhouse) and scheduling apps. Chime may disclose your personal information with these providers as necessary for them to perform their functions. These service providers are contractually obligated not to further share the personal information they receive from Chime except to the extent you give them permission to do so.

A. Identifiers:

Chime collects any identifiers you share during the application process. These likely include your name, physical address, email address, and phone number. Chime may source this information from you via various methods, including email, webforms (such as the LinkedIn form hosted on Chime’s Careers page), or because such information appears on your resume.

Chime uses your identifiers for the purposes it uses applicants’ personal information generally.

B. Employment Information:

Chime collects any employment information you share during the application process, including anything contained in your resume. Chime may also collect employment information about you from social or career networking sites, your former employers, and other persons familiar with your employment history.

C. Education Information:

Chime collects any education information you share during the application process, including anything contained in your resume. Chime may also collect information concerning your educational history from social or career networking sites, educational institutions, and other persons and organizations who have information pertinent to your application.

Chime uses your education information for the same purposes it uses applicants’ personal information generally.

D. Protected Class Information:

Chime may learn information about your race, age, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, marital or family status (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, immigration status, alienage, military / veteran status, or disability from you or other persons familiar with you during the application process.

Chime may use information concerning your disability status in order to provide appropriate accommodations during the application process.

Chime may aggregate your protected class information with that of other applicants in order to review its hiring practices or report to government agencies as required by law.

Beyond the specific purposes described above, Chime may use your protected class information for any lawful business purposes.

E. Other Information and Inferences:

Though Chime does not expect to collect personal information about job applicants beyond the categories above, Chime may learn additional personal information about you during the application process. Except as prohibited by law, Chime may retain the personal information it collects and any opinions or conclusions made about you as a record of your candidacy. Chime may periodically review your record for fit with additional opportunities and may use your information to contact you regarding additional career opportunities at Chime.
