Secured Chime Visa® Credit Card - Cash Rewards Program Addendum

CASH REWARDS PROGRAM SUMMARY

The secured Chime Visa Credit Card and its respective credit card account (“Card” and “Card Account,”) are offered by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC, and are distributed and serviced by Chime Financial, Inc. (“Chime”) on behalf of the banks. See the back of your Card for the issuing bank. The cash back rewards are provided by Chime.

Your participation in this cash back rewards program is subject to this secured Chime Visa® Credit Card – Rewards Program Addendum (“Addendum”), which supplements your secured Chime Visa® Credit Card Agreement and Application Disclosure and Secured Deposit Account Agreement.

This cash back rewards program, including this Addendum, is subject to the Governing Law and Arbitration provisions of the secured Chime Visa Credit Card Agreement.

When you open a Card Account and obtain Chime+ status, you will begin earning 1.5% cash back on all Eligible Purchases in rotating Spend Categories (each as defined below). You must maintain Chime+ status at the time of an Eligible Purchase to earn cash back on that Eligible Purchase. If you lose Chime+ status, you will not be able to earn cash back on Eligible Purchases. However, if you lose Chime+ status after making an Eligible Purchase, but before that earned cash back is transferred to your Secured Deposit Account, you will still receive the cash back to your Secured Deposit Account, so long as your Secured Deposit Account remains open and in good standing. ELIGIBLE PURCHASES

“Eligible Purchases” refers to the purchases of goods and services in designated Spend Categories that have settled, which may be after your purchase date, using your Card everywhere Visa credit cards are accepted, minus returns and other credits. Eligible Purchases do not include cash advances, gift cards, disputed transactions, unauthorized or fraudulent transactions, fees, or any other transactions that Chime may determine in its sole discretion are not eligible to earn cash back. Purchases using your Chime Visa Debit Card do not count as Eligible Purchases and will not earn cash back.

ELIGIBILITY

You may earn cash back rewards as long as your Card Account and Secured Deposit Account are open and in good standing. You will not be able to earn cash back rewards if your Card Account and Secured Deposit Account are closed or suspended for any reason.

This offer is void where prohibited by federal, state, or local law.

SPEND CATEGORIES

Chime will communicate in your Mobile App the “Spend Categories” for which Eligible Purchases made during the specified period will earn cash rewards. Spend Categories are based on a merchant’s MCC, as described further below. Chime will have the right to determine the rotating Spend Categories, and all determinations are final. Spend Categories can include, but may not be limited to:

  • Restaurant: Includes restaurants that sell prepared food and drinks for dine-in, takeout, drive-through, or delivery. Also includes places that sell alcohol—like wine, beer, mixed drinks, and other liquor or beverages—for consumption on the premises.
  • Groceries: Includes grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, miscellaneous food stores, and meat provisioners, candy, nut, confectionery, and dairy product stores
  • Gas: Any service station or automated fuel dispenser.
  • Cable/internet: Includes internet, cable, and other paid television.
  • Phone bills: Includes telecommunications (like mobile phones) services and equipment, and fax services. 

“MCC” means a merchant category code and is a four-digit classification code, as defined by Visa®, that is assigned to a merchant by Visa® or merchant processor based on the predominant business activity of the merchant. Chime has no responsibility for the assignment of MCCs and does not evaluate what MCCs should be assigned to a specific merchant. Chime reserves the right to determine from time to time the Spend Categories and which MCCs are included in each Spend Category. Chime is not responsible for awarding cash back rewards for Eligible Purchases in the Spend Categories at merchants who do not report an Eligible Purchase with an accurate MCC.

EARNING CASH BACK REWARDS

You will earn cash back rewards equal to 1.5% of the dollar amount of your Eligible Purchases in each rotating Spend Category. From time to time, your cash back rewards may be delayed.

There is no minimum amount of Eligible Purchases required before earning cash back rewards, and there is no maximum cash back rewards amount that you may earn so long as your Card Account and Chime Checking Account are open and remain in good standing.

Fractions of cash back rewards will be rounded up to the nearest whole cent if equal to or greater than $0.005 and rounded down if less than $0.005.

WHEN YOU WILL RECEIVE CASH BACK REWARDS

Any cash back rewards earned on Eligible Purchases minus returns, cancellations, chargebacks, or other credits to your Card, transfer automatically to your Secured Deposit Account generally within nine (9) calendar days after the Eligible Purchase transaction settles in your Card Account. From time to time, transfer of your cash back rewards may be delayed.

If you close your Card, any earned cash back rewards not yet transferred to your Secured Deposit Account will be forfeited. If your Card Account is suspended for any reason, your earned cash back rewards may not transfer to your Secured Deposit Account.

EXPIRATION AND FORFEITURE

Earned cash back rewards do not expire. Any earned cash back rewards that have not transferred to your Secured Deposit Account will be forfeited if your Card Account is closed by The Bancorp Bank, N.A., Stride Bank, N.A., or Chime for any reason.

HOW TO VIEW YOUR CASH BACK REWARDS

The cash back rewards you earn on Eligible Purchases will be shown in your Chime Mobile App and on your billing statement.

USING YOUR CASH BACK REWARDS

Once any earned cash back rewards are transferred to your Secured Deposit Account, they will be available for use by you, and reflected in your Available amount and on your billing statement..

OTHER CONDITIONS

Chime, The Bancorp Bank, N.A., or Stride Bank, N.A., reserve the right to take action if it sees evidence of fraud, abuse, misuse, or suspicious activity, as determined by Chime or the bank in its discretion. Such action may include but not be limited to:

  • Disqualifying you from this cash rewards program
  • Disqualifying earned cash back rewards that have not yet been transferred to your Secured Deposit Account
  • Suspending or closing your Card Account

You acknowledge that cash back rewards have no cash value prior to such time as cash back rewards are transferred to your Secured Deposit Account. Unless and until the cash back rewards are transferred to your Secured Deposit Account, no tangible or intangible right, title, or interest in the cash back rewards has been created or earned. Nothing herein requires Chime to transfer any cash back rewards to your Secured Deposit Account if this cash rewards program has been canceled, terminated, or suspended.

CASH REWARDS PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS

Chime, The Bancorp Bank, N.A., or Stride Bank, N.A. reserves the right to change this Addendum or the cash rewards program at any time in its sole discretion. Changes may include, among other things, adding a cap to the amount of cash back rewards you may earn, modifying Eligible Purchases or Spend Categories, excluding transactions, imposing additional restrictions, or terminating the cash rewards program.

CASH BACK REWARDS ADJUSTMENTS

Adjustments will be made to your cash back rewards as the result of canceled transactions, refunds or other credits from merchants, and other credits to your Card (including those resulting from successful transaction disputes). Adjustments may cause a negative balance in your cash back rewards. If you have a negative cash back rewards balance at the end of a payout cycle in which at least one Eligible Purchase is posted to your Card, the cash back reward for the Eligible Purchase will be used to offset your negative cash back reward balance, and will not be transferred to your Secured Deposit Account. Adjustments will appear in the Chime Mobile App.
