Chase checking account fees

Chase Bank offers five types of checking accounts, not including student accounts.
Monthly fees range from $4.95 to $35. These fees can be waived if you meet certain conditions, like receiving a certain amount of electronic deposits each month, including payments from payroll providers or government benefit providers:

  • Chase Secure CheckingSM
  • Chase Total Checking®
  • Chase Premier Plus CheckingSM
  • Chase SapphireSM Banking
  • Chase Private Client CheckingSM

Chase savings account fees

Chase offers three savings accounts:

  • Chase SavingsSM
  • Chase Premier SavingsSM
  • Chase Private Client SavingsSM

Overdraft fees

Chase checking account fees for overdrafts are $34 for each item returned or submitted to an account with insufficient funds that overdraws the account by more than $50. Overdraft fees are waived for Chase Sapphire Checking and Chase Private Client Checking accounts if the transaction occurs during the first four business days of a statement period.

Items that overdraw the account by less than $5 won’t be charged the Chase overdraft fee.

Chase charges overdraft fees on the first three overdraft transactions per day, or a total of $102 in daily overdraft fees. Chase does not charge fees on further overdraft transactions after the daily cap has been reached.

ATM fees

Chase charges $3 per transaction for Chase Total Checking account holders to use an ATM that isn’t in the Chase network in the United States. With the Chase Premier Plus Checking account, you won’t pay a fee for the first four out of network ATM withdrawals per each statement period.

Using an international ATM that isn’t in the Chase network costs $5 per withdrawal on top of any fees that the ATM owner might charge. With Chase Secure Checking and Chase Total Checking accounts, a Foreign Exchange Rate Adjustment of 3% will be applied to ATM withdrawals made in a currency other than U.S. dollars.

ATM withdrawal limits range from $300 to $3,000, depending on whether you’re accessing a Chase or non-Chase ATM.
