My Paycheck™ Terms and Conditions
(www.chime.com/my-paycheck-terms-and-conditions-work-location)
Please read this entire agreement closely. It includes information we want to make sure you know. Here are some highlights:
- Eligibility and Enrollment describes requirements to use My Paycheck
- Authorization for Debits from Your Account includes your authorization to settle My Paycheck transactions from your Chime Checking Account:
- We will debit funds from your next Qualifying Direct Deposit to settle transactions. If we are unable to settle a transaction within 34 days since your last Qualifying Direct Deposit of $200 or more, we will debit funds from any direct deposits from an Eligible Source, as explained below
- Authorization for Debits from Your Account also includes our commitment that we will not pursue debt collection activities or report My Paycheck transactions to credit bureaus
This is an explanation of the terms and conditions that apply to the My Paycheck service (“My Paycheck”) made available to eligible members of Chime Financial, Inc. (“Chime”) (“you,” “your” or “Chime Member”) and offered by Stride Bank, N.A. ("Stride," and together, "we," or "us")
Through My Paycheck, you can request access to receive and retain a portion of funds you have already earned in advance of your next scheduled direct deposit from an employer or payroll provider. Your eligibility to use My Paycheck and the amount of funds that may be available to you are subject to these My Paycheck Terms and Conditions (“My Paycheck Terms” or “Terms”).
MY PAYCHECK IS NOT A LOAN. NEITHER STRIDE NOR CHIME IS LENDING YOU MONEY. ADDITIONALLY, YOU ARE NOT SELLING OR ASSIGNING US THE RIGHT TO YOUR EARNINGS OR WAGES.
We hope you find that My Paycheck is a helpful service when you need access to unpaid earnings before your next payday. However, there may be times when My Paycheck may be unavailable. You should not rely on continued availability of the My Paycheck service to meet your financial needs.
Please read these Terms and any other referenced terms carefully before using My Paycheck.

Eligibility and Enrollment
To be eligible for enrollment in My Paycheck, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- You are 18 years of age or older;
- You have a Chime Checking Account in good standing with Stride;

- You have received, and continue to receive, $200 or more in Qualifying Direct Deposits into your Chime Checking Account every 34 days;

Bank ACH transfers; Pay Friends transfers; verification or trial deposits from financial institutions; peer to peer transfers from services such as PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo; mobile check deposits; cash loads or deposits; and one-time direct deposits, such as tax refunds and other similar transactions are not Qualifying Direct Deposits. Additionally, direct deposits received from gig economy payers, benefits payers or unknown sources are not Qualifying Direct Deposits.
- You live in one of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, or Wyoming.
If you meet the eligibility requirements above and have been invited to enroll in My Paycheck, you can enroll through the Chime App.
If you initially meet the eligibility criteria and subsequently fail to meet such criteria, or if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions regarding My Paycheck or any other product or service offered through Chime and/or its bank partners, your access to My Paycheck may be suspended or terminated as determined by us in our sole discretion. For example, if you enroll in My Paycheck and do not receive a Qualifying Direct Deposit, we may: (a) suspend your access to My Paycheck until you receive a Qualifying Direct Deposit; or (b) terminate your access to My Paycheck. If your access to My Paycheck is terminated and you subsequently become eligible, you must re-enroll in My Paycheck to begin using it again.
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms govern your use of My Paycheck. By enrolling in My Paycheck, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at 1-844-244-6363.
Incorporation of Other Agreements
As a condition of signing up for My Paycheck, you acknowledge that there may be additional agreements that govern your relationship with us, including but not limited to, the Chime Deposit Account Agreement, the Chime Savings Account Agreement, the Stride Privacy Policy, and the Electronic Communication Agreement (collectively, “Additional Agreements”), each of which is hereby incorporated by reference. The terms and conditions of the Additional Agreements shall continue to apply in full force. You further agree that the Arbitration provision of the Chime Deposit Account Agreement shall extend to any claim, dispute, or controversy (“Claim”) arising out of or relating in any way to: (i) these Terms; (ii) My Paycheck; (iii) your eligibility for My Paycheck; (iv) your use or attempted use of My Paycheck; (v) any amount requested or received through My Paycheck; (vi) any and all advertisements, promotions, marketing materials, or oral or written statements related to My Paycheck; or (vii) benefits, features, or services related to My Paycheck, no matter how described, pleaded or styled. These Terms shall supplement the Additional Agreements. In the event of a conflict with these Terms, these Terms shall control.
How it Works
My Paycheck may be accessed through the Chime app. Once enrolled, you may request access to receive a portion of your estimated net unpaid earnings at a given point in time (“Estimated Earnings”) before your next Qualifying Direct Deposit. If your request is approved, you can choose to access the amount “Available Now” or a portion and the requested amount of your Estimated Earnings will be transferred to your Chime Checking Account. You may be limited in the number of times you can use My Paycheck, subject to our sole discretion. For information on your My Paycheck availability at any time, consult the Chime App. In the event that there is an error with the transaction, we will notify you in app and/or via email and prompt you to try again.
Limits
The maximum amount of Estimated Earnings that you may request at any given time is determined by us, in our sole discretion. Your limit may change at any time, without notice. Please check the Chime App for your current limit.
Fees and Funds Availability
There are no fees required to use the My Paycheck standard service. When you request to receive a portion of your Estimated Earnings, funds will generally appear in your Chime Checking Account within two days. You may, from time to time, be presented with the option to receive funds in your Chime Checking Account instantly (“My Paycheck Now”). If you elect to use the optional My Paycheck Now feature, you may be charged a fee of up to $1.99 for such instant transfers. However, use of the Instant Pay feature is optional, and you will never be required to pay a fee for standard My Paycheck transfers.
Authorization for Debits from Your Account
You authorize us to automatically debit from your Chime Checking Account the amount of any outstanding My Paycheck transaction(s) when you receive your next direct deposit that is a Qualifying Direct Deposit. In the normal course, if your pay has not been reduced, this Qualifying Direct Deposit should be sufficient to settle your outstanding My Paycheck transactions. However, if you receive a Qualifying Direct Deposit that is sufficient to cover only part of any outstanding My Paycheck transaction, you authorize us to debit such funds from your Chime Checking Account.
Further, if you have outstanding My Paycheck transaction(s) and have not received any Qualifying Direct Deposits of $200 or more for more than 34 days since your last Qualifying Direct Deposit of $200 or more, you authorize us to automatically debit funds from your account to settle any outstanding transactions when you receive a Qualifying Direct Deposit or a direct deposit from any other Eligible Source. If such direct deposit is sufficient to cover only part of any outstanding My Paycheck transaction, you authorize us to debit such funds from your Chime Checking Account.
An Eligible Source is any source other than a bank transfer, trial deposit, tax refund, or commission. For example, Eligible Sources includes, but is not limited to, gig economy payers, benefits payers, and deposits by Original Credit Transaction (OCT) from your gig economy payer.
If you are also enrolled in SpotMe and have an outstanding SpotMe balance, any SpotMe balance will be repaid prior to any debit associated with a My Paycheck transaction. If you have Move My Pay or Save When I Get Paid enabled, any such transfers will occur after funds are debited to settle any outstanding My Paycheck transaction.
You represent and warrant that you have the right to authorize deductions from your Chime Checking Account in accordance with these Terms. You will indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims by any other owner of the Chime Checking Account.
If Stride and/or Chime is unable to deduct, from direct deposits in your Chime Checking Account, the outstanding amount of any My Paycheck transaction received by you, either in full or in part, we warrant that neither Stride nor Chime will have any legal or contractual claim or remedy against you based on such failed debit attempts, but your enrollment in My Paycheck may be terminated. Further, neither Stride or Chime will engage in any debt collection activities or report to a consumer reporting agency in connection with My Paycheck.
If you have questions about debits from your account, please contact us at 1-844-244-6363.
Please note that we do not charge interest on any outstanding My Paycheck amount. Your credit will not be impacted if you do not settle a My Paycheck transaction. Neither Stride nor Chime will furnish information about its users to credit reporting agencies or other creditors.
Use of Pinwheel
In connection with your use of My Paycheck, we may provide the option to link your payroll information through services provided by Underdog Technologies Inc., d/b/a Pinwheel (“Pinwheel”). If you enroll in this functionality, you grant us and Pinwheel permission to process your timecard, other payroll information, and direct deposit information in connection with your request to use My Paycheck. We will rely on timecard data, pay stub information, direct deposit data, and other payroll information provided by Pinwheel to provide My Paycheck to you, and you authorize us and Pinwheel to share such information for this purpose. You authorize us to store the payroll credentials you enter into Pinwheel via the Chime App integration to routinely collect wage information from your payroll provider on an ongoing basis. If you enroll in this functionality, you may not be able to use My Paycheck if we are unable to obtain information through Pinwheel for any reason.
Pinwheel may require you to agree to its terms of service and privacy policy. Your obligations under this Agreement do not replace or supersede any obligation you have under Pinwheel’s terms of service and/or privacy policy that apply to your use of Pinwheel’s products and services as integrated into My Paycheck. We are not responsible or liable for products and services offered by Pinwheel or Pinwheel’s processing of your personal information.
Additional Data Sources
In connection with your use of My Paycheck, we will ask for access to the location of your mobile device in order to verify your continued employment, to estimate hours worked, to make decisions regarding your access to My Paycheck, and to educate our risk and decisioning models for My Paycheck and other Chime services. For example, we may request access to your phone’s location tracking capabilities and work address in order to estimate your hours worked based on the duration of time you are at your place of work.
In order to use My Paycheck, you must agree to grant us access to your location and enable location sharing on your mobile device, even when you are not using the Chime App. Your enrollment in, and use of, My Paycheck will be conditioned on your consent to share location data for the purposes described in this Section 9. If you do not agree to grant us access to your location or disable location sharing at any point on your mobile device, you will not be able to access My Paycheck or all of its features, and you will not be able to request or receive any portion of your estimated net unpaid earnings, until you once again allow us access to your location and enable location sharing on your mobile device.
Your Representations and Warranties
When you enroll in My Paycheck and/or request to receive a portion of your Estimated Earnings, you represent and warrant that:
- You will continue to have a Qualifying Direct Deposit of $200 or more deposited to your Chime Checking Account at least every 34 days for as long as you are enrolled in My Paycheck;
- You have earned the net accessible wages to which any request for funds relates, that those wages are not subject to a reduction in whole or in part by reason of a valid lien or garnishment, and that by requesting funds, you have a reasonable expectation of receiving those net wages in your next scheduled wage payment;
- All information you have provided to us is true, accurate, current, and complete, and you agree to maintain and promptly update such information to keep it true, accurate, and complete;
- You have not, and will not, take any action or direct any other person to take any action that is fraudulent or deceptive, infringes upon the rights of others or us, or that you know or have reason to know is false or misleading;
- You are responsible for resolving any disputes that you may have with your employer. We will not intervene in any such disputes;
Your use of the My Paycheck service does not violate any law or agreement to which you are bound; - There are no claims, actions, suits, audits, inquiries, proceedings, or governmental investigations pending or threatened involving you or the transactions contemplated by these Terms that, if resolved against you, would be reasonably expected to have an adverse effect on our ability to be repaid;
- Your name on record with your employer(s) for payroll purposes is the same name you used to establish your Chime Checking Account;
- You hold all legal right, title, and interest to and in your wages, free and clear of any liens, encumbrances, judgments, or garnishments, and you have not otherwise sold, pledged, assigned, or encumbered your wages;
- Your wages are not subject to any dispute, claim, offset, deduction, discount, defense, or counterclaim of any kind;
- You have not directly or indirectly committed any error, misrepresentation, negligence, fraud, omission, or violation of law with respect to the wages.
Modification
We may, from time to time, modify these Terms. Such modifications shall be effective as soon as the modified version of the “My Paycheck Terms and Conditions” is posted in the Chime App or any other authorized Chime App distribution location. You can determine when these Terms were last revised by referring to the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms. Your use of My Paycheck following such changes constitutes your acceptance to the revised version of the Terms.
We reserve the right to stop offering My Paycheck at any time. In the event that we stop offering My Paycheck, we will continue to initiate debits from your Chime Checking Account to settle any outstanding My Paycheck transactions received by you consistent with these Terms, but we will cease to approve any additional requests to receive a portion of your Estimated Earnings.
