Chime Brings Together Chime Employees and Community Leaders to Advance Financial Progress at Second Annual Agents of Change Event

At Chime, our mission to unite Americans to unlock their financial progress isn’t driven by one team, one product, or one program. It’s built through collaboration—across functions and alongside the communities closest to the work.

In January, Chime brought that belief to life at our second annual Agents of Change celebration in San Francisco. The event convened Chime employees, also known as Chimers, from across the company alongside nonprofit leaders, policy advocates, Chime Scholars, and our 2025 cohort of Chime Community Changemakers.

This year’s gathering was a celebration of community leaders and Chime Scholars, alongside the Chimers whose work—across product, policy, partnerships, and operations—helps turn purpose into progress every day.

Building Progress, Side by Side

Now in its second year, the Agents of Change event reflects Chime’s commitment to bringing together key changemakers from across Chime and our community programs—including the Chime Community Changemakers and Chime Scholars Foundation—to drive solutions to systemic financial challenges. This year, we also welcomed our Chime It Forward Champions—Chimers who are championing volunteerism and community involvement across the company. These are the employees who have helped us build and lead service events with nonprofit partners they’re personally passionate about, expanding our impact beyond our products and into the communities we serve.

Throughout the evening, Chimers, Scholars, and Changemakers exchanged stories and ideas—strengthening relationships and uncovering new ways to collaborate across sectors. The event helped to reinforce a simple truth: progress is built together.

“Those closest to the work are the best suited to discover and implement the solutions,” said Sara El-Amine, Chime’s Vice President of Community. “At Chime, we bring together different levers—product, policy, community, philanthropy—to address financial progress in ways that form a symphony. You rarely see this kind of collaboration, but you see it here.”

That spirit of shared ownership—across roles and lived experiences—is core to how Chime approaches impact.

Stories That Bring the Mission to Life

The evening also featured stories from across Chime’s broader impact ecosystem.

Jessica, a Chime Scholar, single parent of five, and Political Science major at UC Berkeley, shared how Chime’s scholarship program helped her return to school and pursue a new career path—demonstrating how financial support paired with trust can open doors to long-term opportunity.

Shelby, founder of Budget University and a Chime Community Changemaker, spoke about scaling her nationally-accredited, AI-powered, financial education platform—and how partnership with Chime helped expand both her reach and confidence as a leader.

Together, their stories reinforced a core truth behind Chime’s mission: when people are given resources and room to lead, financial progress becomes both achievable and long-lasting.

Why This Work Matters—Inside and Outside of Chime

As Chime grows, we remain focused on investing in the infrastructure—and the people—that drive financial access and inclusion. Programs like Agents of Change are not side initiatives; they are strategic to how we scale impact sustainably and responsibly by integrating Chimers with our social impact work.

For Chimers, the event was a powerful reminder that our daily work connects directly to real lives and real outcomes. For partners and policymakers, it underscored Chime’s belief that lasting progress requires collaboration across the public and private sectors.

“We don’t achieve our mission in isolation,” said El-Amine. “We do it in concert with advocates, educators, and everyday people pushing for something better. That’s what makes this work endure.”
