Chime® kicks off Financial Literacy Month with a bold commitment to bring financial education to 10 million people across the United States over the next three years.
Fueling this commitment is a new financial progress hub in the Chime app, dynamic community education events, and expanded access to innovative and tailored financial literacy curriculum powered by Zogo®.
Chime believes financial education should be approachable and accessible. As financial education isn’t often a required course in most schools across America, many people are missing out on the critical building blocks for creating a stable financial future and don’t have resources readily at-hand for practical money advice. In fact, according to a recent study¹ published by the National Financial Educators Council®, the lack of financial education cost Americans more than $388 billion in 2023.
Aligned with Chime’s mission to unite everyday people to unlock financial progress™, we are empowering millions of everyday people to take control of their finances:
⇒ Financial Progress Resource Hub: Chime’s award-winning app is the most loved banking app in the country with more than 1M 5-star reviews combined on Google Play™ and the App Store®. Now, with a few clicks, Chime members can quickly access relatable financial education content that is trusted and relevant to them.
⇒ Community Events: Over the next three years, Chime will host a series of Feels Like Progress™ financial education events in our members’ communities across America. The events will bring hands-on learning, in-person experts, and take-home resources to our members and their communities.
⇒ Learn & Earn: Through Chime’s partnership with Zogo, people can access bite-sized, gamified lessons where users can complete lessons to earn real rewards. People can sign up using the access code “CHIME” for customized lessons, rewards, and more.
“We know many people didn’t grow up learning about personal finance. We want to be a true partner on your financial journey. It’s never too late to learn about managing your money. We’re here to help.”
– Kira Traore, Head of Corporate Social Impact at Chime
Financial Progress for Everyone
Over the next three years, Chime also plans to continue growing its involvement in other resources for everyday people, including:
⇒ Money Moves: The Chime blog is home to free articles teaching the basics, from managing debt and understanding credit to better money habits and budgeting basics.
⇒ Higher education: The Chime Scholars Foundation (CSF) is a non-profit organization that awards annual, renewable scholarships of up to $5,000 to low-income students. CSF helps everyday people build a better future through higher education.
