Index Methodology: We identified FinTok trends through a three-phase approach using AI, search engines, and social scraping tools to track trending financial keywords, influencers, and audience feedback.
Phase 1: Trend Discovery. Identified trends via Google and AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT), with keyword and hashtag tracking tools (TikTok Analytics, Google Trends, and Hootsuite). Monitored personal finance influencers (e.g., Tori Dunlap, Humphrey Yang) and analyzed #FinTok video comments to identify emerging topics.
Phase 2: Trend Analysis. Measured shares, comments, and likes using tools like TikTok Creator Marketplace and Hashtagify. Tracked trend popularity via Google Trends and Exploding Topics, applying sentiment analysis with tools like MonkeyLearn.
Phase 3: Validation. Confirmed trends through adoption on Instagram, YouTube, and mainstream media (e.g., CNBC, Forbes).
