Chime is excited to welcome Nasdaq veteran Angie Ruan as VP of Engineering, and former Apple and Uber data science leader David Purdy as our first-ever Chief Data Officer. Angie and David’s leadership and expertise will help us build and scale Chime’s technology platform while continuing to deliver and improve upon the financial products our members use and love.

As SVP of Technology at Nasdaq, Angie helped build platforms used by thousands of companies to manage boards, ESG initiatives, and investment, and provide trading, risk management, and surveillance technology to power more than 130 markets around the world. Prior to joining Nasdaq, Angie served in leadership roles at American Express, PayPal, and eBay.
In 2021, Angie was inducted into the Women in Technology Hall of Fame for her leadership and contributions to the technology community.

David joins Chime from Apple, where he served as Head of Data Science in the Special Projects Group. He also spent five years at Uber, leading teams and designing platforms for machine learning (Michelangelo) and marketplace forecasting (FutureFlow). His work laid the foundation for scores of new applications that improved the safety and experience for riders and drivers. Prior to Uber, while a VP at Goldman Sachs, he led the development of novel, scalable solutions for analytics and trading.
