Chime has spent years redefining personal finance with innovative, user-friendly tools and easy-to-use products so that members gain the confidence and proper know-how to unlock financial progress. So, Lynch and Chime getting back together made perfect sense. Last year, drive-thru patrons who pulled up to Steve’s Burgers in Los Angeles were surprised to be served by Lynch himself, who asked them what financial progress meant to them before gifting them a $2,500 check from Chime.
This year, in partnership with Chime, Lynch returned to his hometown of Oakland to pose as an employee at a neighborhood bakery to give back to those who give their time to help others. Volunteers were invited to the bakery under the impression they’d be picking up Thanksgiving pies to deliver to families in need. But instead, Marshawn surprised each volunteer with not only a delicious pie but also $2,500 to unlock a memorable holiday moment.
Behind the scenes while filming, Lynch shared, “I’m back at it with Chime to continue the conversations with real people about finance and also help them unlock their paycheck by making today their pay day.” One of the most inspiring parts of the collaboration was the volunteers’ reactions, all of whom found time between their day-jobs to give back this holiday season–many were inspired to pay it forward and share this gift with their family and friends.
Chime and Marshawn’s renewed partnership shines a spotlight on personal finance, empowering individuals to take control of their pay.
Chime’s head of social media, Kaye Oleo says, “Marshawn Lynch is the perfect partner aid in Chime’s mission to unlock financial progress, and making any day payday. His passion for financial responsibility and connecting with our members in a way that’s uniquely Beastmode has been truly unmatched.”
