Chime’s hours of operations

Good news! Chime is available anytime, anywhere, online or right at your fingertips with the Chime mobile app. We’re The Most Loved Banking App®; you’ll never have to worry about scheduling time to deposit a check.

If you ever need a human to help you with specific questions, Chime customer support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Chime observes all federal and bank holidays. Our banking partners are closed on federal holidays, which may affect the timing of your direct deposit.

How does direct deposit work?

Remember back in the day when your employer would give you a paper check? Now, you can skip a trip to the bank to cash in your paycheck. Direct deposit is a fully automatic transaction that electronically deposits money into your checking account without waiting for a check. Super convenient, right?

You can set up your Chime® Checking Account to receive direct deposit straight from your employer. When you receive direct deposit to your Chime Checking Account, you can access your funds up to two days early.¹ That’s two more days to help your money go further, whether that’s paying off your monthly utility bill or booking tickets for your next trip while prices are low.

Chime typically post your funds as soon as we receive them from your employer. The timing of when your direct deposit gets processed depends on when your employer processes their payroll or your benefits provider submits a check. Deposits are posted Monday through Friday.

Chime will never hold your money, so if you are experiencing delays, it’s best to check back with your employer to confirm what time and date they sent the paycheck. Once your money is posted to your Chime account, you’ll receive a push notification and email letting you know, ka-ching! You got paid!

Government benefit deposits (SSI, SSA, VA, etc.)

If you receive government benefits, you may get your payment early when your scheduled payment date falls on a weekend or federal holiday.

For the most accurate benefit payment timing, visit our Help Center article on government benefits.

How holidays affect your Chime deposit timing

During federal or bank holidays, our banking partners are closed, which can delay your direct deposit. If your payday falls on one of these holidays, your deposit will usually arrive the next business day.

Some employers or benefits providers may process payments early before a holiday. In that case, you could receive your money sooner than expected!

If you don’t see your deposit yet, don’t worry — once it’s sent to us, we’ll post it immediately and notify you in the app.

Note: Chime agents can only see deposits once they’ve successfully posted to your account.

Does Chime deposit on weekends?

Chime posts direct deposit payments to your checking account Monday through Friday. Our banking partners do not process payments on weekends or banking holidays.

If you’re expecting your direct deposit to arrive on the weekend, your money will appear in your Chime account the following Monday or the next business day (if it’s a holiday).

Direct deposits and payroll

Your employer or benefits provider ultimately controls when we receive your payment. Some send payroll early during holiday periods, but many follow their regular schedule.

Check with your payroll provider or employer to learn their plans for managing paydays that conflict with holidays.

As soon as your deposit is received by our banking partners, we’ll make it available in your Chime account — we never hold your money.

Your direct deposit is coming

Don’t stress if you don’t see your paycheck on the holiday – our banking partners are taking a well-earned break. Plan ahead with Chime’s holiday schedule in mind to know when your direct deposit will hit.

Using the Chime app, you can manage your money with a few screen taps to put more time back into your day. Ready to get paid? Set up direct deposit through Chime to access your hard-earned cash from your phone.
